At the age of 18 Jonathan started work at the Village Inn where he was always known as Josh. Employed by Doreen as bar staff his work ethic of 'just get it done' and the fact that nothing was too much trouble for a boss he respected and admired, meant that he was soon an invaluable member of staff. In the seven years that Jonathan worked at the Village Inn he gained the respect and friendship not just of his boss but of his co-workers as well. Though friendly with all the staff he found yet another partner in crime in Del, he seemed to find one where ever he went. Del soon became a regular in Plush with the other boys and many a night would they work late, not at all playing the machines and having a beer or two to wind down after a hard shift.
